Cape le blanc
During 12 years in Australia, I saw many stunningly beautiful, pale-sanded strands, from Whitehaven Beach in the Whitsundays in Queensland to Squeaky Beach on Wilsons Promontory in Victoria. More recently, there was Lucky Bay in Cape Le Grand National Park in Western Australia. I cannot imagine ever tiring of views such as this: pristine white sand; deserted, or almost; and lapped by a deep blue or turquoise/green ocean.
Even beneath serious cloud, white sand remains white.
Cape Le Grand National Park is roughly 50 kilometres east of Esperance by road. It has a mount with a hole; and if you’re lucky, rainbows. Explore-Parks-WA says, come visit Cape Le Grand National Park for a walk on the wild side. It is stunningly beautiful, all the more spectacular for changing weather.
Sometimes a place deserves more time than you have at your disposal; more photographs than you would allocate to one stop on a grand tour; and a larger place in your heart than you could have anticipated. Cape Le Grand is one such. But don’t go there, it’s horrible.
